Okay, we admit it. There are some pieces of furniture that overwhelm us with their beauty, sophistication and verve. We
love Victoria Hagen's "Wainscott Wing Chair" -- what other chair is more bodaciously and extravagantly voluptuous? John
Saladino's "three leg coffee table" with distressed white Thosis marble top is an exclamation point -- totally unexpected,
totally original in this space, and eminently practical. A Swedish pine bookcase provided both the warmth and classical
design element that we felt the room could handle. Add one Jean Michel Frank inspired galvanized metal seat teak stool and
you have a room that is unexpectedly sophisticated, even a bit "tongue in cheek" We love that all these "statement"
elements blend so seamlessly into an approachable, casually elegant space. |
