Who wouldn't leap at the prospect of designing a classic cottage on the Bay. We started with a cleansing palette of seafoam gray/green walls and slate floors, and added a mix of classic and contemporary wicker, rattan and teak furniture, an antique "find or two" and striking contemporary art. With a view to practicality, we selected Sunbrella fabric for sofa and chair seat cushions and gave them a "kick" with wisteria, blue and apple green linen accent pillows (these, the perfect foil for the slate floor). This is a room about ease. The "slipper chairs", rustic iron and glass tables, and lamps of wrapped rattan and terracotta, all speak to the sophistication of the owners as well as to their confident sense of style. This room was designed to be a beautiful backdrop for the perfect view. We think it is.
