This extraordinary room contains classic elements: antique blue and white porcelains, a time-worn 18th Century Italian marble urn, a French chair upholstered in sumptuous ribbed silk, a striking black lacquer table, and a carefully edited assemblage of found objects, such as the rusted gimbaled ball lamp (rescued from an Indian Dhow) just visible at the bottom right. The gray/blue/green washed Italian cabinet is new, and a testament to the power of the curve. Below the cabinet is a wonderful painted ottoman upholstered in cream vanilla leather, with nail head trim - a different take on the traditional coffee table.

The effect is sophisticated, striking and clean.
