Envisioned as a suite for the legendary Coco Chanel, this bedroom sitting area defines luxe.
The extraordinary Coromandel screen is new, yet made by the same Chinese firm for over 300 years. The sumptuous sofa is upholstered in camel limousine cloth sparked by antique nail head trim. To one side, a blanc de chine lamp rests on a lustruous black lacquer table. On the other, a golden embroidered pillow (identical to that found in Mme. Chanel's own apartment) lies in wait. Just in view to the left are quilted suede floor pillows - the height of luxury. And, in the foreground, is a stunning gold and glass coffee table from Christopher Norman, its finish jewel-like. The rug is the essence of quiet luxury - an Odegard antique weave carpet in rich cocoa browns. No outside intrusions are allowed - walls are upholstered in cream silk to insulate the occupant from the noise of today's lifestyle, curtains of rich, satin-finished wool hung from Lucite rods give the room a special quiet atmosphere and further respite from today's hectic lifestyle. |
